The Behr Chronicles...
14 March 2005 was a miraculous day. It was surely the worst of times and the best of times. Our beloved Murphy died so tragically and unexpectedly. Nothing could have prepared us for this awful sadness. Everybody adored Murphy. Life without him was something no-one could bear to think about. The greatness of the Universe showed its true colours on this day. In Dalfsen in Holland, a litter of puppies was born 14 March 2005. The Breeder, Karla Zurhaar, and Murphy's bereft family, had never heard of each other before. They had no knowledge of each other's existence whatsoever. Sam and Mick Angell told Murphy's breeder of his untimely demise and Marion told her friend, KARLA ZURHAAR! Karla invited Sam to share with her about our Berners in Port Elizabeth, South Africa and once she had got to know us, she offered us a puppy from this very special litter. And this is how we got our precious little Viking Behr Van'T Rijkenspark. He made the massive journey from Holland to South Africa when he was a bitty baby of eight weeks and we have been keeping his adoring public up to date with photos of his life with us. In South Africa we do carting - most countries call it draughting. That is when your dog has to maneuver a load around a laid out course pulling a cart.
