Hellow to you! Although my real name is Viking Behr Van't Rijkenspark, all my friends call me Behr. I prefer that. I come from Holland. My mother is Gamay Jenny Van't Rijkenspark, who lives with Karla Zurhaar in Dalfsen and my father is Xtra Large Van de Weyenberg. I was born on the 14 March 2005 and when I turned eight weeks, I went on a very, very long journey to South Africa. My destination: Port Elizabeth. Goodness me, but I really did have to be a very brave boy. I still think it was very lucky that my new mom and dad chose me. My Holland brother, Balthasar, says I was a very good boy to be able to go so far away from my mother and father and look forward to a life in a strange country with strange people and new brothers and sister and on top of everything else, they speak ENGLISH! Since I have been here, I have had the very best time. I have met lots of new friends. I have a gurl friend. Her name is Palio and she is a Standard Poodle. She is two weeks younger than me, so I am always in charge when we play. But my mom sez I must play very softly with her, because she is a gurl. Boyz are not allowed to hurt gurls, you know! I also have another gurl friend. Her name is Ruth and she is a Samoyed. She is a bit older than me. She is five years old. But my mom sez it is alright for me to play with her, because she teaches me good stuff. Ruth is always in charge when we play. But I think soon I will be in charge, because I already weigh twenty-two kilo's and she only weighs twenty-three. Then I will be stronger than her soon. I love my two brothers. Kodi is my brother that lives at home with me and my mom and dad. He is wonderful. I respect him a lot, because he is in charge of all of us. But he is not very heavy. My mom says he is the world's greatest atom bomb. I wonder what she means? But he is very strict and even Maxxie listens to him. Maxxie is my other brother that lives with Linda in town. He plays with me all the time. He teaches me all the wrestling moves ao that I can be stronger than Ruth soon! Maxxie loves me too much and he doesn't mind if I sink my teeth into his ear sometimes. He never screams. Kodi watches us play. He likes to do that. Sometimes if Maxxie knocks me a bit too rough or bumps me over, I might just let a little squeak out. Then Kodi looks at Maxxie with "that" look and Maxxie quickly says he is sorry! He respects Kodi. We went to Oudtshoorn for a holiday. It was wonderful. We stayed in a log cabin overlooking a lake, way up in the mountains. It was very nice. Kodi and Maxxie took me for walks. They know all the good places there, because they have been there often. They even took me swimming in the mountain spring. The water was very cold. In South Africa, June is winter! We also swam in the swimming pool. It was just as cold! My dad took photos of me swimming. He sez I am very clever. I knew how to swim without anybody having to help me. I loved it! I want to go swimming again. On Saturday mornings we go for walks on the beach. I love to run on the sand. I am not allowed to go off-lead, because of legal stuff. But my mom puts a very long lead on for me, so I can have a good time. We walk far on the sand and then we get to some rocks. I like that. Me and Kodi climb on the rocks and play "king of the castle" games. But Maxxie likes to play in the sea. I don't like to go in the sea. That water moves! It makes such a noise, too. Maybe when I am as big as Maxxie, then I will like to go in the seawater. But not now. When we are finished going for a walk, we go to The Blue Dolfin and have breakfast. Then my mom buys us ice cream. My goodness me! Ice cream is the best food that humans grow! Even better than rice with cream and sugar. Oh, I wish I could only have to eat ice cream! At the moment I am getting my growed up teeth. Sometimes my mouth is ever so sore. But I just chew my mom's chair and then my little gums feel better. My mom sez it won't be long and all my teeth will have changed. Then I will forget about my itchy gums and then she says we are going to learn new games. I can already play the beginning Part of Tracking and I can "look" and my mom sez I do marvellous heelwork. She sed to Linda I am very clever, but my concentration span is short. I have no idea what that means, but I am sure it was a compliment????? So, it won't be long and I am going to play training games like Kodi and Maxxie. I can't wait to be a schutzhund dog. I bet I will be as good as Kodi. I know I can run very fast so maybe I will. Maxxie is going to teach me to catch a ball then I will be able to do flyball and also catch frisbees. I can't wait to be older. I will write some more when my teeth are finished growing. Then I will tell you about the new me!

Life has not been all work for our little Netherlands Miracle. He has had a lot of fun! He loves to swim in the Ocean and to run free in the African Bush. Well, on the well-mowed fields in Africa, to be exact. Behr has very soft feet and the thorny undergrowth pricks him. He does not really cope well with that!
Since Ruthie’s dad stopped traveling, Behr does not see her as often as before. Nowadays, his best friend is Maxxie. They adore each other and Maxxie has taught Behr all of his favourite games. Behr and Kodi are an inseperable team. Behr is as respectful of Kodi as he ever was. Kodi has POWER! Behr might have grown up, but he still loves his mom more than anyone else. Even in the African summer, he is happy to sleep on her bed. After all, someone has to take care of her! When Sam gets home from work, Behr is sooooooooooo Bernese:
“You come home. The dog throws itself at you. ‘Where have you been? You’ve been so long. I missed you, I missed you, missed you. I love you, love you, love you. What’s in the bag? Something for me? Oh, let me lick your ear. Oh. Let me chew your gloves. You’re Home!”
