Ahoy, there............. Do you see the Re-Birth of a Cart? Look again........ It is HERE!

Notes on the cart design:
A - Made from 1x link from a chain, welded to an 8mm bolt. As the shafts are aluminium, we fitted a stainless steel washer to add strenght. The chainlink is oval in shape to facilitate an easy fit to the snap hook on the harness. Refer to the pages on the harness design.
B - Shaft fixture. The locking mechanism is an 8mm stainless steel loop through an 8mm deep nut, welded to the pipe. This allows us to remove and adjust the shafts. Where this locking loop goes onto the aluminium shaft, we have inserted a steel strenghtening piece (steel pipe in slighly smaller diameter). This can be fastened in with resin and will stop the aluminum from collapsing under pressure from the locking screw.
C - Trace fixture. If you compete in competitions in South Africa you will have to fit trace lines to the cart. The trace fixture is is an 8mm stainless steel loop bolted to the frame.
D - The wheels are 20" BMX front wheels. This size is perfect for large dogs as the rolling resistance is minimal. The rimms are alloy, with stailess steel spokes and heavy duty hubs. We prefer Maxxis tyres. The outside wheel strap has been shaped to deflect any obstructions.

Okay, fans. A man can only take that much adulation. Then he has to take a back seat on humility for a minute! Keeps you in shape, so to speak.

Below is Behr's competition cart.
It is important to balance the cart properly as to make it as manoeverable as possible. The shafts should be removed and the cart should be perfectly balanced. This means that, without a load, the preload on the cart is only the weight of the shafts.
